So, this entry is my first blog post. I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing, what it will eventually look like, what I'll even post, or who will even care to read it. However, I do know why. I am writing this to:

Create: To share my opinions, insights, and as a way to express those "creative outbursts" in a public way, even if they are not fully formed (comments welcomed!).
Document my ideas: To capture the evolution of my ideas over time. As I write this now, I am a postdoc aspiring to lead an academic research group. By documenting my upcoming struggles and successes, I hope to tell my story as it unfolds and I hope this inspires others.
Tell my story: Because who doesn't like a good story.
